Canadian Stocks/Mining Stocks

QuestionI recently came across some stocks that my grandmother bought in the 50's and 60's. I can't find any info on the companies and was wondering if they have any value. They are for Highland Valley Mining Ltd., Western Allan Bee Oil and Gas Company Ltd, Canford Explorations and Matinenda Uranium Mines Ltd. Any information you could provide would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Allison
AnswerAlison, from the information I have available, this is what I found:
Highland Valley became New Highland Valley Mines after a 1 for 2.5 reverse stock split. New Highland became Great Manhattan Gold, but I have no idea what ultimately happened to Great Manhattan.
Western Allenbee became Hariston Corp after a 1 for 5 reverse stock split, and then Midland Holland after a whopping 1 for 500 reverse split. Midland later changed its name again, but due to the massive reverse split, most holders were reversed out of existence.
Both Canford and Matinenda went out of business and had their charters cancelled, with no value for shareholders.
You can consult with a broker and confirm this information, as well as seek some additional information regarding the Highland Valley.
