Question
We recently found some stock certificates in my late Mother-in-law's papers:  1000 shares of St. Anthony Mines Ltd., 400 shares of Augdome Exploration Ltd., and 226 shares of Cessland Corp. Ltd.  Is there any value here?  Thanks so much for your time.

Answer
From the information I have available, this is the information I found:

St. Anthony went through several name changes and reverse stock splits (a 1 for 30 and a 1 for 2.74) and eventually became Visa Gold. Visa was cease-traded in 2003 and delisted in 2004, and those cease-trade orders remain in effect.

Augdome Exploration became Augdome Corporation, but I do not know what ultimately happened to the company. Ontario did issue a cease-trade order against them in 1992, and that order remains in effect.

For Cessland, I am not sure what happened to the Company. Ontario issued a cease-trade order back in 1992 which remains in effect.

Because I have no information on the ultimate ending for at least 2 of the companies, I suggest you contact a broker and take all the certificates to them and ask them to perform a more detailed search for you. If they do find there is value in any of the certificates, they can also help you reorganize the certificates into the current form in which they can be sold.
