Question
I am in reciept of 5 certificates of 100 shares each dated may 23, 1969. Can you tell me if there is any value? I am a broker at Sunbelt Securities in Houston, TX and I am trying to help my client.

Answer
Toni, I have been asked about PCE several times before, which suggests this situation is not unique and there are a lot of old certificates floating around. The Company did a 1 for 6 reverse split and became Pan Central Explorations around 1972. Pan Central seems to have disappeared around 1984. Not many companies seem to drop out of site without a trace, but this one seems to be one that did.

Since there have been old certificates of both companies for sale on the internet as art, it suggests there is probably no value. However, I suggest you try the Province of Incorporation, which should be listed on the certificate but I believe was Ontario. They should be able to confirm the company's current status and if there was a change from 1984 to the present.
