Question
I have found several old shares and wondered if they are worth anything or who buys them.
1.  Muldeskotia Mining Co.  1500 shares in April 1928
2.  Porcupine McNabb Gold Mines limited  500 shares October 1936
3.Dupont Mines Lim  100 shares  Jan 1926
4. Senator Oil and Gas Development co  10 shares August 1931

I do have about 10 more of various mines

They are not signed on the back and I have no idea how to start to research them or the companies.

Any help or advise from you will be appreciated

Thank you
Debbie Murphy

Answer
Unfortunately, I have no information at all regarding any of those companies. However, they all pre-date most of the information I have available.

These shares are so old it will be difficult to trace value. I would start with the Province of Incorporation (listed on the certificate) and see what information they may have. Or, you could take the certificates to a broker and see if they may be able to find anything.

If you do find they have no value as shares, they might have nominal value as art to collectors. Collectors like older certificates, especially if they are in excellent condition and have decorative faces.
