I have shares from Chibougamou Asbestos Ltd. dated 1958.  Is this company in existence?

Unfortunately, I have no information on the company at all. However, as you can guess from the name, not too many Asbestos companies have survived.

If there is a transfer agent listed on the certificate, I would contact them first as they will know if your particular certificate has any current value. You could also try the Province of Incorporation (also listed on the certificate) and see what information they have available. Or, you could contact a broker and see if they can perform a more detailed search for you.
