My mother has some old shares could you please tell me anything about them. She has 275 shares in Applied Inventions MGT-CL-A and 150 shares in Afton Food Group Ltd.

Monica, unfortunately the information I have available indicates neither has any value.

Applied was cease-traded and delisted in 2001. That cease-trade order remains in effect, and I don't see any indication the company ever satisfied the conditions to return to trading.

Afton went bankrupt and went into receivership to sell its assets to satisfy its creditors. The stock was suspended and delisted, and I do not believe there was any value for common shareholders.
