Question
I recently came across 2 old stock certificates in my fathers things.  One is for 300 shares of Poles Mines Limited dated May 5 1970. Second is for 250 shares of Silver Belle Mines (1966) Limited dated Nov 21 1966. I am trying to find out what I can and if they are worth anything or just scrap paper.  Thanks in advance

Answer
Unfortunately, from the information I have available, it appears both certificates have no current value.

Polex Mines did 2 reverse stock splits and eventually became Spartec International Corp. Spartec was cease-traded and delisted in 2000. That cease-trade order remains in effect.

Silver Belle did a 25 for 100 reverse split and became Alchib Developments, which later did a 1 for 3 reverse split, changed names several times more, and ended up as Cercal Minerals. Cercal was cease-traded and delisted in 1995, and those cease-trade orders remain in effect.
