Hi,
Anything you can do to enlighten my family about some shares my father (deceased) bought in 1954 for the "Pontiac Petroleums Ltd." company would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing it references is the Guaranty Trust Company of Canada as the transfer agent and registrar.

The certificate was issued on December 29, 1954.

Please help so that I can put this to bed one way or another.

Walt, from the information I have available, it appears the shares have no value. Pontiac was struck from the Corporate Register in 1959. That happens when a company fails to file its required regulatory information or pay its fees for several years in a row, usually because the company is already out of business.
