My deceased father left a certificate for 150 shares of Resolute Petroleums Limited stock.  We are wondering if they have any value.  Purchased 10/27/76.  Thanks

Kathy, I don't have much information available. In 1988, the Company changed its name to The Resolute Corporation. I know they were around for a couple of years, but in 1990 they seem to disappear, and I don't know why.

If there is a transfer agent listed on the certificate, I would attempt to contact them first, as they will know if there is any value. You could also try the Province of Incorporation (Ontario, I believe) and see what information they have on the company. Or, you could take the certificate to a broker and see if they can perform a more detailed search for you.
