Question
I have the followong stocks: Do they have any value?
Canadian Barranca Corp.
Copper Lake Explorations
General Cybernetics Corp. /Vantex
Bigstone Minerals
Lincoln Resources Inc
Muscocho Explorations Ltd.

Answer
David, from the information I have available, this is what I found:

Canadian Barranca was struck from the corporate register in 1987. It does not appear there was any value for shareholders.

Copper Lake was struck in 1996. Same as above.

General Cybernetics was delisted from the Vancouver Stock Exchange in 1989 after running into financial and regulatory trouble. I don't believe it was ever revived.

Bigstone did two reverse splits (a 1 for 5 followed by a 1 for 9.5) and became Britannica Resources. Britannica trades on the TSX Venture Exchange for about 4.5 cents per share.

Muscocho did a merger with other companies and became Golden Goose Resources. Muscocho holders received 1 share of Golden Goose for every 4 Muscocho shares held. Golden Goose trades on the TSX Venture for about 27.5 cents per share.

Lincoln did a 1 for 10 reverse split and became United Lincoln. United then merged into its parent company Continental Gold on a 1 for 1 basis. Continental was acquired by Placer Dome for $20.00 per share in 1991.

For the Britannica and Golden Goose, you need to contact each company's transfer agent and get the old shares reorganized into the new ones. The agent for both appears to be Computershare, who you can reach at www.computershare.com.

For the Lincoln, you might contact Barrick Gold, who acquired Placer Dome in 2006. My guess is that if you did not receive the cash, then it was turned over to the government for safekeeping. The transaction was 18 years ago, so it may or may not still be available to you. I suggest you try searching the missing property departments of every State or Province you lived in from the time you acquired the original Lincoln shares until today. Fortunately, you can search most States and some Provinces for free online at www.missingmoney.com and www.naupa.org. (I give both addresses, as some States and Provinces participate in one and not the other).
