Question
I have discovered an investment certificatecertifying that my mother in law is a registered holder of a systematic investment plan to acquires shares of canadian gas and energy fund limited in the amount of $36000.00 held by montrel trust company as custodian
Ther is a certificate number however the bottome half of the certificate is missing
The rest of the info is available to read
There is no date on it but mymother in laws name appears as the holder
I am Power of Attorney for her as she is in a nursing home is 90 years old and sufffers from dementia
I am trying to find a contact for this certificate which I am sure is quite old

Ron, I don't have enough information regarding the certificate to give you any specific information. I suggest you contact Montreal Trust, as they should know what it is and if there is any value. Montreal Trust no longer exists in its old form, but the business is still around. Computershare has a portion (www.computershare.com# and Scotia Bank has a portion #www.scotiabank.com). I suggest you contact Computershare first, as they are the most likely to be able to help you with your questions.
