Question
couple years ago my grandfather passed away and while
cleaning up the garage we found some certificates to some
old canadian companies and just put them back in storage
until i found them again today. I am curious if they have
any value. the companies are:
Petromine exploration & finance company limited = 200
shares from 1949... I do have a letter stating petromine
was bought out by Nationwide Minerals limited at 1/2 share
per petromine share
Thanks for any help
Oil Selections Limited = 200 shares   from 1955

Answer
Unfortunately, from the information I have available, it appears there is no value to either certificate.

Petromine was acquired by Nationwide in 1952, but Nationwide was dissolved in 1965, and I don't believe there was any value for common shareholders.

Oil Selections became Quonto Petroleums, which then changed names to Quonto Explorations. Quonto was dissolved in 1972, and I don't believe there was any value for common shareholders there, either.
