Question
Recently I was going threw my deceased aunts paper work and I found some certificates dated in the late 1930 and early 1940's. Is it possible they have any value? I tried researching the company via internet, is it possible they could be under a different name now? thanks

Answer
Unfortunately, I have no information on that company, but the dates you gave are earlier than most of the information I have available. It is possible (but not likely) they have value, or changed names at least once.

If there is a Transfer Agent listed on the certificates, you should try to contact them first. You could also try the Province of Incorporation and see what information they have on file. Or, you could contact a broker and see if they can perform a more detailed search for you.
