QuestionMy mother recently found some shares that she has purchased through E.A.Manning Limited and has asked my to look them up on the Internet. I can't seem to find anything about them. She has 500 shares of Ultra Mines & Energy Corp. 1000 shares of TJN Gold Explorations Inc. and 500 shares of Cindy Mae Resources Inc.
AnswerMonica, from the information I have available, this is what I found:
The Ultra went through numerous name changes and at least one reverse stock split and became eStation.com. eStation was cease-traded, delisted, and foreclosed upon. I do not believe there was any value left for common shareholders.
TJN Gold became TJN Industries. TJN was cease-traded in 1984, and that order remains in effect. I don't show any revival of the company.
Cindy Mae became Woodview Corp after a 1 for 4 reverse stock split. Woodview went private in 2002 - common shareholders received 15 cents per share. Taking into account the reverse split, your mother would have had 125 shares. At 15 cents per share, there is $18.75 out there somewhere for her. In the cases where the company cannot contact the holder, the funds are turned over to the government for safekeeping until claimed or the term under the law is reached. 2002 is only 7 years ago, so chances are good someone has that money in safekeeping. You need to search the unclaimed property records of each State or Province in which your mother lived since she acquired the shares. You can search many of them for free online at www.missingmoney.com and www.naupa.org. Search using the name exactly as it appears on the certificate, even if it is abbreviated or misspelled.
