Question
We have a share certificate for 100 shares of Bro Resources Ltd.  We cannot find anything about this company, whether it is still in existence, etc.  The transfer agent is Guaranty Trust Company of Canada in Calgary.  Bro Resources Ltd. was incorporated in Alberta, but so far no luck in finding any information.  Would appreciate your assistance.  Thanks.

Diane, Bro performed a 1 for 5 reverse stock split and changed its name to Canadian Quantum Energy Corp. Canadian Quantum is still around - it trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol "CQM" for about $1.40 a share.

You need to contact the current transfer agent, Computershare (www.computershare.com) and let them know what you have. They will be able to determine if the certificate is valid. If it is, they can perform the reorganization of the certificate and issue the new Canadian Quantum certificate.
