Question
I have some old stock certificates that we found in my dad's belongings after he died.  They are for Trinity Chibougamau Mins Limited.  The certificates are dated June 30,1964.  I am wondering if they would have any value.  I have tried researching online, but have not been able to come up with anything useful.  I believe they were purchased in Rockford, Ill.

Answer
Lorna, it would depend on how many shares your father had, but based on the information I have available, there is some value to the company today.

Trinity went through numerous reverse splits and consolidations (a 1 for 20, followed by a 1 for 6, then a 1 for 3) and it became Banro Corp. Based upon the consolidations, every 360 common shares of Trinity would be 1 Banro (before Banro had a 2 for 1 forward split, so it would be 2 Banro shares today). Banro trades on the NYSE Amex for about $2.00 per share.

You need to contact Banro's transfer agent, Equity Transfer (www.equitytransfer.com). The Agent will be able to confirm if the Trinity certificates are currently valid and, if so, how many shares of Banro they currently represent. They can then reorganize the shares into the new Banro shares for you.
