Question
My mother recently passed away and I found a certificate from Jascan Resources for 10 common shares dated July 7, 1993... Does it have any value? If it does, how can I cash it in? Please advise... Thank you...

Answer
Jascan was acquired by Breakwater in 2000. Ratio was 0.55 Breakwater for 1 share of Jascan. If your mother had 10 shares of Jascan, that would be 5 shares of Breakwater. At the moment, Breakwater trades for $0.28. It probably won't be worth going through the reorganization process for $1.40 in value (since the transfer agent will likely charge a reorganization fee for the shares#, but I would contact the transfer agent, Computershare #www.computershare.com) not only to confirm this information, but also to see if perhaps your mother had additional Jascan shares of which you are unaware.
