Canadian Stocks/Old Shares

Question
Hi Steve
I purchased 200 shares in Dallas Petroleum Resources with Gordon-Daly Grenadier Limited in 1981. I understand Gordon-Daly is out of business. What recourse do I have to find out the status of these shares?
Thanks
Gary

Answer
Gary, I don't have much information on the company, which is not surprising for Gordon-Daly peddled stocks from that era as many of them simply disappeared with little notice. I do know Dallas changed its name to AML International, and then AML was cease-traded by Ontario in 1990. That cease-trade order remains in effect, which suggests there is no trading market for the shares.
