Question
I have lost my shares certificate from Triex Oil and gas, who were ultimately acquired by Tristar Oil and gas. I continue to receive corporate mailings from Tristar. Can I found out the value of my Triex shares (I believe I had 1,000), and how to redeem them?

Answer
George, Tristar has been extremely active in merging and acquiring other oil and gas companies, so I cannot tell you at this time how many shares of Tristar your original Triex has been converted into. However, the Transfer Agent will absolutely be able to tell you. They are Olympia Trust Company in Calgary (www.olympiatrust.com). They will be able to not only tell you how many shares you own, but will issue you new Tristar shares. However, be aware they will likely charge you a reorganization fee for doing so. They might also require you to post a bond equal to about 2% of the current value of the Tristar because you lost the original Triex share certificate.
