I recently discovered an old stock certificate given to me at the close of my trust fund back in 1987. It is for a company called Gemini Food Corporation. The transfer agent was The Canada Trust Company. As I am currently in some financial difficulty I hope this is worth something. The company may have been bought out, but I am not certain of this. Please, can you help? Thank you for any assistance.

From the information I have available, Gemini was acquired in 1988 for 50 cents a share. Chances are you were sent a check at that time. If not, the money has likely been turned over to the State or Province in which the transfer agent last had on file as your residence. What you need to do in that case in contact the missing property department in every state or province in which you lived from the time you first acquired the shares until the present to see if they have any money for you.
