Question
After my father passed away, I found stock certificates for Cessland Corporation and Aubet Resources among his belongings.  Can you tell me any information on the companies and who I might contact about cashing the stock?

Answer
Bill, I have been asked about both of those companies several times, and usually in the same question. It makes me wonder if some broker somewhere sold them both to a larger number of clients.

Aubet did a share exchange and became Visa Gold. Visa ran into serious trouble on several fronts, including with securities regulators, and was suspended, delisted, and cease-traded in 2003. Those cease-trade orders remain in effect today.

Cessland also ran into serious trouble financially in the late 1980's. I don't believe they survived, and the company was cease-traded in 1992, an order which is also still in effect. You could contact a broker to see if they can confirm this information for you and perhaps provide additional information.
