Question
I have anumber of old stock certificates and am wondering if they have any value at all.
Norpax Nickel Mines Limited
Silverquick Development Co.(B.C.)Ltd
Cassiar Copperfields Limited (NPL)
Sovereign Metals Corporation (NPL)
Thanks

Answer
From the information I have available;

Norpax had its charter cancelled in 1976.

Silverquick became Silverquick Resources, which was cease-traded in 1982. That cease-trade order remains in effect, which suggests the stock was never able to cure its problems with the regulators and return to trading.

Cassiar was dissolved and struck from the corporate register in 1970.

Sovereign did at least 2 reverse splits (a 1 for 3, then a 1 for 4) and became International Barytex before merging into Kobex Exploration (shareholders received 0.221 of a share of Kobex for each share of Intl. Barytex). Kobex trades on the TSX Venture for about $0.98 per share. You need to contact the current transfer agent, Computershare (www.computershare.com) about getting your shares reorganized.
