I have original stock in a company called Great Valley Exploration & Mining Ltd. from Montreal,Quebec dated 1956. Are these stocks still good?

Unfortunately, from the information I have available, the shares have no value. The Company merged into Resource Exploration %26 Development, which later had its charter cancelled, which is what happens when a company fails to file its required regulatory information (and pay its fees and taxes), which is usually because the company is already out of business.
