Question
Hi:  Own two certificates from 1965 for 1000 shares in the Great Basin Metal Mines Limited company, incorporated under the Laws of Ontario, issued by the Guaranty Trust Company of Canada- Toronto.  Have receipts, Company Prospectus for Great Basin Metal Mines Limited and also receipts for payments from H.E. Smith Securities Limited, Toronto.
Can you help me find out how to track everything down to see if they are of any value, or whether it was just a speculation offering?  Thank you.

Answer
Unfortunately, from the information I have available, those shares have no current value. The Company had its charter cancelled in 1973, which is what happens when a company fails to file its required financial information (and pay its fees and taxes).
