Question
QUESTION: I am residing in Australia and have come across share certificates that my deceased mother and father had purchased years ago in Canada. I was wondering if they have any value?
3000 shares in TORONADO MINES, 5000 shares in CLEARWATER MINES Ltd, 2000 shares in XOMA Ltd- XOMA LTEE, 1000 shares in WESTERN TIN MINES LIMITED, 1500 RUSTY LAKE MINING CORPORATION. Could you please help me? Many Thanks,

ANSWER: From the information I have available:

Toronado had its charter cancelled in 1981 - there was no value for shareholders.

I have no information on Clearwater.

Xoma was dissolved in 1980 - there was no value for shareholders.

Western Tin had its charter cancelled in 1976 - there was no value for shareholders.

Rusty Lake became Rustex, which later had its charter cancelled. There was no value for shareholders.

QUESTION: Thank You for your help, most appreciated.  I found one more after I sent my e-mail, Bayard Resources Limited?

Answer
The only information I have available on Bayard is that it was slapped with a cease-trade order by Ontario in 1978, and that order remains in effect. That suggests the stock has no value, but you might check with a broker and see if they can find any additional information.
