Question

Old share certificates located in estate. Sante Fe Gold Mines Limited; Red Lake Centre Mines Limited; Fort Hope Mines Limited; Uchi Gold Mines Limited; Atlas Gold Mines Limited; Laval Quebec Mines Limited; Wyandotte Enterprises Limited; Hard Rock Gold Mines, Limited; Brooks Gods Lake Mines Limited. We are presuming none of these have any value but wondered if there is a place where old certificates could be auctioned/sold to a collector of same? Thanks. (I scanned them all but they are a pdf file and I cannot upload it for you. Is there a way to send the file to you in pdf format? Thanks.

Bill, most of those companies predate most of the information I have available, but considering the age, I think you are right - I don't believe there is any value. However, there might be to collectors. There is a an active collectors market in old certificates. You can try searching for "scripophily" which is the hobby of collecting old stock certificates and see what you find online. That should bring up several companies that buy and sell old certificates.
