Question
I bought 600 shares in Laverty Red Lake Resources Inc. back in 1988, 300 @ $1.45 per share on Feb. 12/88 from a D. Gulko and then another 300 shares @ $1.95 per share on June 9/88 from H. Malowane. I just found the prospectus and stock certificate and would like to know if they are valuable and where can I cash them in. Thanks

Answer
Doug, from the information I have available, the company has gone through several name changes and at least 2 reverse stock splits (a 1 for 5, then a 1 for 15) which has the effect of reducing your original 1200 shares down to just 16 today. I believe the company is now TransAtlantic Petroleum, which trades on the TSX for about $3.20 per share. You will need to contact the current transfer agent, Computershare (www.computershare.com) in order to confirm this information and get the old shares reorganized before they can be sold.
