We have some old shares (1985) in Evergreen International Corp registered with National Trust Company of Toronto.  i have tried to investigate this and have not been able to come up with anything,  Can you tell me if they are of any value?

Shelley, from the information I have available, I don't believe there is any current value. The Company ran into serious financial trouble in 1988, and was suspended, delisted, and cease-traded. Those cease-trade orders remain in effect today, which suggests the company was never able to solve its problems and return to trading.
