Question
Have a very Old Stock Certificate for Centramaque Gold Mines Limited. Was given to me by my Grandfather and is dated 1945.
Understand they may have been sold or absorbed but any help woud be appreciated

Answer
William, from the information I have available, the company has gone through numerous name changes, mergers and capital changes. It eventually became Rio Narcea, which was acquired in 2007 by Lundin for $5.50 per share cash.

The problem is the capital changes. Because of those changes through the years and assuming my information is correct, 672 common shares of Centremaque would be only 1 share of Rio at the time of acquisition. Therefore, the potential current value would depend on how many shares you originally had.

I suggest you contact the original agent for the buyout in 2007, Computershare (www.computershare.com) as they should be able to point you in the right direction.
