Question
I purchased shares for Bionaire Inc. in 1989.  Can you tell me
if there is any value to these shares.Issued by Central Guaranty
Trust Co.

I purchases shares for Noma Industries Ltd. in 1989, issues by Montreal Trust Co., is there any value to these shares.
Thank you

Answer
Terry, from the information I have available, both of these companies were acquired years ago.

Bionaire was acquired by The Rival Company in 1996 for $2.25 per share cash.

Noma was acquired by a private company in 1999 for $9.25 per share cash.

If you did not receive payment for these shares, it is likely the funds were turned over to the government for safekeeping as they could not find you.  In that case, you need to search every State or Province in which you lived from the time you bought the shares until the buyouts. You can search many of them for free online at www.missingmoney.com or www.naupa.org (try both - they each have different participants). Search using the name exactly as it appears on each certificate.
