Question
I have 1000 shares of Consolidated Buffalo Red Lakes Mining Limited shares my grandfather bought in 1969. I understand the company was acquired by Gold Corp. I've also been told there have been splits. I'm also hearing many other conflicting reports.
Can you finally put my questions to rest? I appreciate it.

Regards,
Vanessa Bell-Smith

Answer
Unfortunately, from the information I have available, Consolidated Buffalo Red Lake Mines Ltd. (incorporated in Ontario) shares were not acquired by Goldcorp. The shares have no value as the company had its charter cancelled in 1977. That is what happens when a company fails to file its required financial and regulatory information several years in a row, which is usually because the company is already out of business.
