Question
I purchased 1000 shares of Deerfoot Resources in April of 1986. I believe it was converted to Geneva Lake, listed as GENL at the time. Can you find any information on on it's current static? The company I purchased them from has left Canada and is now only in California.

Answer
Allan, from the information I have available, you are correct - it became Geneva Lake Minerals, but then it changed again, to Mt. Kearsarge Minerals in 1992. In 1994, it did a 1 for 10 reverse split and became Sino-Forest Corporation. Sino-Forest is still around - it trades on the TSX for about $20.50 a share.

You need to contact Sino's transfer agent, Valiant Trust (www.valianttrust.com) to confirm that your shares are valid and, if so, to get them reorganized into the current shares, the number of which will depend on if there were any other splits or reverse splits in the last 16 years.
