Question
Hi I found a a share certificate for a gold company purchased by my mom in 1945. I  was wondering how to research the company (Heva Cadillac Gold Mines Limited) Thanking you in advance

Answer
Mark, from the information I have available, the shares likely have no value.

The company went through numerous name changes and at least 2 reverse splits (a 1 for 2, followed by a 1 for 25) and became Waterford Capital. Waterford later did a share exhange and became CPI plastics on the basis of 0.205 CPI per share of Waterford. CPI did quite well for awhile, but last year went into receivership and was delisted. The receiver said at that time that it was unlikely that common shareholders would receive any money from the sale of assets, and I believe that has been the case.
