QUESTION: Gordon-Day Grenadier Securities.On May 22 1987, my Husband and I invested shares into this Company.  Can you please tell me if this Company is still activated and if not what site I can go to, to find out more information

ANSWER: From the information i have available, the company has changed names several times, and also consolidated the stock at least twice (a 1 for 4 reverse split, followed later by a 1 for 50 reverse). It is currently Augustine Ventures, which does not trade on any stock exchange or market. The current transfer agent is listed as Equity Transfer (www.equitytransfer.com) and the most recent telephone number listed for the company in Toronto is (416) 363-3582.

QUESTION: Thank you for your information.  Is there any way that we can find out if our shares are still worth anything? Would I get that kind of information from Equity Transfer?

Answer
Equity Transfer will be able to tell you if you are a shareholder and how many shares you currently own, but they cannot affix value. Since the shares do not currently trade anywhere and there is no active market for the shares, value is difficult to determine at the present time. However, if they are able to list on an exchange or market and a bid and offer for the shares is given, you would be able to determine the current value and sell your shares at that time.
