Question
Mr Taylor:

I have a number of old stock certificates and wondering if they have any value at all. If these worth anything and if they are then how do I go about cashing them in for the money

Minedel Mines Limited  (countersigned and registered by Crown Trust company  dated June 1976

Zarina Explorations Ltd. (countersigned and registered by Metropolitan Trust company Toronto Ont)

Burgess point resources Inc.  (countersigned and registered by National trust company, Toronto, Ont)

Temple Explorations Inc.  bought in 1977 and 1979 from Rosmar Corporation Limited in Toronto, Ont.

thanks for your time

Answer
From the information I have available:

Minedel went through numerous name changes and reverse stock splits. Currently, it is Live Reel Media, which trades in the US for less than 1 cent per share.

Zarina became Emfax International, which was cease-traded in the 1990's.

Temple Explorations became Burgess Point, so your certificates are probably one and the same (the agent probably just mailed the new Burgess Point certificate to holders and electronically cancelled the old Temple shares, but you will need confirmation on that). Burgess did a 1 for 7 reverse split and became Metallica Resources, which later merged into New Gold on the basis of 0.9 of a share of New Gold plus 1 cent cash for each Metallica share. New Gold currently trades on the TSX for about $5.25 a share.

To cash in any certificates, you will need to contact a broker, who should also be able to help you with any required reorganization of your old shares into the current ones. They should also be able to confirm this information and possibly add to the information I have.
