Question
When my Dad passed away, we found 11 old stock certificates in his filing cabinet.  There are 4 for Globe Exploration & Mining Co. Ltd. purchased in December 1964, April 1965, September 1965, and May 1967; 2 for New Jason Mines Ltd. purchased in January 1967 and July 1968; 4 for West-Coast Resources Ltd. purchased in January 1968, August 1969 and December 1970; and 1 for PCS Wireless Inc purchased in May 1994.  Are these certificates of any value?  I don't know where to start to look for help or if it is worth pursuing further.

Answer
Joy, from the information I have available:

Globe had its charter cancelled in 1975. No value for shareholders.

New Jason had its charter cancelled in 1976. No value.

West Coast also had its charter cancelled in 1976. No value.

PCS became Unique Broadband, which currently trades on the TSX Venture for about 8 cents per share. You need to contact the current transfer agent, Equity Transfer (www.equitytransfer.com) to determine value and to get the old certificate reorganized.
