Question
I am the executor of my father's estate and have found shares for Commonwealth Richmond Properties Inc., Ross Island Resources Inc., and Planetsafe Enviro Corporation. among his papers. There are others, but I thought I would start with these as I have no other information on them, as in who to contact. Do you know if they have any value, or are they not worth enough to pursue?

Answer
Valerie, from the information I have available,

Commonwealth did a 1 for 16 reverse split and became Empire Alliance. Empire was cease-traded and has not filed any of its required regulatory information since 2001. Therefore, there is no current market for the shares.

Impact did a 1 for 4.9 reverse split, followed by a 1 for 7 reverse, and became Simplex Solutions. Simplex ran out of money and was unable to file its required annual financial and related regulatory information and was cease-traded in 2007. Last I heard they were trying to raise some money to complete their delinquent filings and return to trading. The contact information I show for them is:

3044 Bloor Street West
Suite 1402
Toronto, Ontario
M8X 2Y8

Planetsafe ran out of money and ceased operations in 1997. They were delisted and cease-traded after that. I show no indications they were able to return to trading.

If you have a large number of certificates, I suggest contacting a broker who should be able to help you research these older stocks.
