Question
Found a certificate for 133 shares of Consolidated Beta Gamma Mines Limited, issued in 1968.  My financial advisor's research has found that coumpany was founded in 1956 from Traverse Longlac Mines Ltd.(1943). 2009 Northwest Territories Geoscience Office report indicates the related claim area was not staked or leased a/o 2004.  This is confirmed by the Mineral Resource Map of Saskatchewan (2008 edition) that indicates two mines under "Beta Gamma Mine" were "closed".  Nothing further has been found... any suggestions on other resources to research if these shares have any value?

Answer
Chris, from the information I have available, the company had a reverse split and became Beta Gamma Exploration and Development in 1969. The problem is that the reverse split was 1 new for 200 old, and that would have essentially wiped out your 133 shares. Shortly thereafter, the company sold itself for 11 cents per share cash. Assuming that they did not eliminate the shares through the reverse split and they instead rounded up, your original certificate would have been worth just the 11 cents.
