I have been going threw my father's old achieves and found some old Mining Stocks, some dating back to 1937. How do I find out if they are of any value today?

Alan, considering the great age of the certificates and the large number, I suggest you contact a broker to help you with the research. They can perform detailed searches and, if they do find any have value, they can help you with the paperwork necessary to reorganize the old shares so they can be sold today.
