Question
Hello,
Last year I asked here about some stocks a relative had left for my family.
Your response was very fast and exceptionally thorough.
Recently I was asked how I came about the information about the certificates
and I mentioned this site.
It got me wondering. What resources do you use to research of old stock
certificates ? Books..databases...etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Simon, I utilize numerous resources. This information is not contained in one place, so you need to know how and where to look. Quite a lot of the information is contained in sources which cost money to acquire and/or access, which is one reason why this information is not easy for the general public to find. Other sources include government databases, some of which are somewhat available online and some which are not. And, some of the information comes from my professional experience and knowledge gained through years of working with public companies on regulatory compliance.
