I found a stock certificate (it was a Christmas gift) dated December 14, 1988 for shares in Capital Reserve, Inc. It is countersigned and registered by Central Trust Company (Transfer Agent and Registrar) in Vancouver. Is the stock any good?

Terrie, that does not seem like a great Christmas gift considering that 3 weeks before the date on your certificate the British Columbia Securities Commission convicted the company's officers and directors of numerous offenses. At that time, trading in the stock was halted, and it was later changed to a suspension. The company was cease-traded and finally delisted in 1990 when it was determined they were unable to correct their problems.
