Question
In 1989 I bought 300 shares of Pan East Resources at $1.60 per share from E.A Manning Limited. Is the stock worth something Today? What is the stock ticker?

Answer
Serge, from the information I have available, the Company did a 1 for 4 reverse split and became Pan East Petroleum. Pan East was acquired by Poco Petroleum in 1998 for either 0.1797 of a common share of Poco or $2.65 cash. Since you likely did not vote on the merger, you would have probably been issued the shares. Poco was acquired in 1999 by Burlington Resources on the basis of 0.25 of a Burlington share for every Poco share. Burlington was acquired by ConocoPhillips in 2006 on the basis of 0.7214 of a Conoco share plus US$46.50 cash for every Burlington share. To determine if your shares are valid and what they might be worth currently, you need to contact Conoco's transfer agent, which should be listed on Conoco's website www.conocophillips.com.
