Question
We came across some shares of stocks purchased by our grandfather in the 1950's and wanted to know if they have any value beyond sentimental:

200 shares of Kristina Copper Mines Limited (which I believe was taken over by Coppercrest Mines Limited based on a letter I found with it)

500 shares of Ryan Lake Mines Limited

100 shares of Derrick Oil and Gas

Any information you can provide will be appreciated. I can send images if needed.  Thanks in advance, Rose

Answer
Unfortunately, from the information I have available, none of the shares have any current value.

Kristina went through numerous name changes and reverse splits (including Coppercrest) and ended as Peerless Canadian Explorations, which dissolved in the early 1970's.

Ryan Lake also had several name changes and reverse splits and ended as Mine-ore Mines, which was dissolved in the 1990's.

Derrick Oil went inactive and disappeared in the mid 1950's. I can find no other references to the company since which may indicate it was ever revived.
