Question
Laurasia Resources Limited was listed on the Toronto stock exchange in the early 80's. Whatever happened since is a mystery.
Does a 500-shares certificate worth anything today? And in what companies Laurasia has merged into, or is it extinct?

Elie, from the information I have available, Laurasia was acquired by Startech Energy Inc. in 1998 on the basis of 24 cents cash and 0.0362 of a Startech share. Startech was later acquired by ARC on the basis of 0.96 of an ARC share for each Startech share. ARC trades for about $24 a share on the TSX. You will need to contact their transfer agent, Computershare (www.computershare.com).

Comment	Very knowledgeable and most helpful, the expert did give most but not the complete story, as I found out later. With the deal with ARC Energy, Startech spinned-off assets to a company called Impact, and gave it to Startech shareholders. Impact was acquired by Thunder, which later was amalgamated with Sword. Sword became private in 2007.
