Question
I have some old gold stocks that my Grandfather had, I've trying to find out what happened to them.

Russet Red Lake Gold Mines, Limited I believe it changed to Aiken Red Lake Mines. incorporated in Ontario

Redruth Gold Mines Limited  ---Ontario
Alexander Red Lake Mines Limited  ---Ontario

Answer
Richard, from the information I have available:

Russet went through a lot of name changes and some very large reverse splits and became Canhorn Chemical, which was suspended and delisted in 2000.

Redruth also went through a lot of changes. it did a 1 for 15 reverse split, then a 1 for 5, then a 0.11326 for 1 acquisition before becoming Sirit Inc., which was acquired in February 2010 by Federal Signal for 46 cents per share. You may want to contact Federal Signal about that one.

Alexander did a 1 for 10 reverse, then a 1 for 25, and eventually became Bearing Power which was acquired in 1998 for $1.40 cash per share. If your grandfather did not receive the cash from the acquisition on that one, you can search the missing property offices of every State or Province in which he lived from the time he first acquired the certificates until the takeover. You can search many of them online at www.missingmoney.com and www.naupa.org.
