Question
I have just discovered share certificates for the above mine. They belong to my uncle who emigrated to Canada and then spent the last years of his life back in England living with my mother, his sister,(deceased). These were among the papers of my brother who died last year.  I just wondered if they had any value and as they are in the name of my uncle who died in the 1970's not sure of the exact date. Also as I am now the eldest member of the family here in England whether I have any entitlement to them. I know he left a will in favour of my mother but know idea where it is now.

I think I am more interested in the history rather than any monetary value but if they were of value I have grandchildren in the USA and would love to be able to help them.

Thank you for taking the time to read this rather long question.

Answer
Andrea, unfortunately, from the information I have available, the shares have no current value. The Company had its charter cancelled in 1980. Therefore, for history's sake, I would suggest hanging on to the certificate as something with your Uncle's name on it. Old certificates are common in family collections for that reason.
