Question
Back in the 50's my father bought share of North American Rare Metals, he has since passed away and my mother is ready to throw out the certificate, is that company still operating?

Answer
Jerry, from the information I have available, the certificate may have some current value. North American did a merger with Sunstate where North American shareholders received 1 share of Sunstate plus 1 share of NAR Resources for every 10 shares of North American. The Sunstate shares have no current value, but NAR later merged with Titanium Corp., which is still around and trades for about $2.00 per share. You need to contact the current transfer agent, Equity Transfer (www.equitytransfer.com) to determine if the old certificate is still valid and, if so, what value it would have now.
