Question
i was given a box of my fathers things when he died and i came accross two certificates of his. i believe thay are stocks purchased in 1977 through the united grain growers limited. one is a class A for 20 dollars and one is a class B for 5 dollars. are these worth anything and if they are who do i get in contact with?

Answer
Amanda, from the information I have available, United Grain Growers merged with Agricore, then Agricore was recently acquired by Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and renamed Viterra, which trades on the TSX.

What you need to do is contact Viterra's transfer agent, Computershare, as they will know if your old United Grain shares are valid. You can contact them through their website, www.computershare.com.
