Question
We found some old stock certificates when my wife's step father passed away, but can't seem to locate any info on the companies.

There are a few small ones from SATELLITE METAL MINES LIMITED, dating from 1958 to 1969.

These is another larger one for ACADIA URANIUM MINES LIMITED from 1965.

Answer
Greg, from the information I have available:

Satellite did a 1 for 5 reverse split and became Phoenix Gold Mines. Phoenix sold its assets to St. Andrew Goldfields in exchange for common shares and dissolved. Phoenix shareholders received 2 shares of St. Andrew for every 39 Phoenix shares. St. Andrew is still around. You will need to contact the current transfer agent, CIBC Mellon (www.cibcmellon.com) to determine if the old certificate is valid and, if so, to get it reorganized into the new shares.

Acadia has no current value. The Company lost its corporate charter in the 1970's.
