Hello,
My Grandfather purchased shares in this company through The Premier Trust Company in 1952. I have a document showing the certificate number and the number of shares. How can I confirm if these shares were sold or not?

Graham, from the information I have available, the company went through numerous mergers and acquisitions, name changes, and capital changes. If my information is correct, it would now be part of Penn West Petroleum Ltd. You will need to contact the current transfer agent, CIBC Mellon (www.cibcmellon.com) to see if they have your grandfather listed as a shareholder.
